Jackson plays in East Texas All-Star game

Senior Le’Aundra Jackson was the first person from MHS to be nominated to play in the Azalea Orthopedics East Texas All-Star Game.

“I was honored to be accepted. I couldn’t wait to play,” Jackson said.

  There were approximately 24 girls chosen to play in this game. There was an East and a West team. Jackson was chosen to play on the West team. They had their first and only practice on March 30.

  “It was a fun practice. We learned three inbounds plays, one offense, and then we scrimmaged the rest of the time,” Jackson said.

   The game was at TJC on April 2. Jackson was playing a great game and at half time she had scored one point to bring the score 38-18, West.

  “These people were like the best of the best. The whole game was a lot faster than it was in district. It was a very fun time,” Jackson said.

  The game came to in an end with East making a great comeback. Unfortunately, the time ran out before they got there. Jackson ended the game with 3 point. The final score was 65-68. The West team won.

  “This was a wonderful experience for me. I loved getting to meet and play with a lot of new people, and being a part of a good team,” Jackson said.
