Being a new student here, I didn’t know what I would encounter. Leaving old

friends, teachers, and activities, I wasn’t sure I could reclaim my sense of peace at

this new school. On the first day, the only word I could use to detail it is frantic. The

fast paced hallways and the strange way the rooms were numbered only lead to

more confusion. Fortunately, I was able to make friends and actually enjoy being a

part of this school.

As the new student, you’ve got to ask questions to know where everything is.

I made the mistake of not asking and getting lost multiple times. Asking questions

and getting information is a key way in getting used to your surroundings and

helping you navigate through the school efficiently. Knowing where you’re going

usually helps with the frantic high school halls.

Schoolwork will always be a tedious task, but as a student, this schoolwork is

needed to further your education. New students always get thrown into unknown

worksheets and papers, but a little studying and having a conversation with friends

about it can do wonders. Anyone can finish the work that they are  assigned if they

put their minds to it.

Finally, as a new student, being friendly and talkative will almost always

attract people to you. You’ll find that being an overall friendly person will eventually

make people come and talk to you, which is beneficial to a healthy high school life. In

the end, I have found that as more and more people come into your life, things will

get better.
